Greetings! This has been a challenging summer for writing, flooding in July (though fortunately my houses sustained no damage, I was just without power for a while) then a heat wave this past week. It’s beginning to seem rather Biblical--perhaps it’ll be a plague of locusts or a rain of frogs next?
Anyway, I’ve still been managing to have some fun with my kids, and doing a bit of writing, too!
But first, the latest news on LADY DEARING’S MASQUERADE. In my previous newsletter I announced that this book had reached the finals of the Romantic Times Reviewers’ Choice Awards in the Regency category and also of the Desert Rose RWA’s Golden Quill contest, in the historical romance category.
Well, now I’m delighted to announce that my “problem child” of a book has won both
awards! For full listings of winners, visit the
Romantic Times and
Desert Rose RWA
websites.
Currently, I’m working on two different historical romances. One features a Waterloo veteran who has taken up ballooning since the war. The other story I'm not ready to talk about yet. Sometimes one needs to germinate ideas for a while before unveiling them!
Meanwhile, I’ve continued to blog with the Risky Regencies. We are currently celebrating our first anniversary!
