Winter 2007

Greetings!

Last November I took the plunge and joined in the National Novel Writing Month challenge, joining 79,812 other writers in the goal to write at least 50,000 words of a new novel by the end of the month.

This year NaNoers wrote a staggering total of 982,564,701 (some of them possibly even good), with 12,948 winners. Including me! I squeaked in just under the wire on Nov 30 with 50,426 words. My NaNoWriMo novel was a different sort of venture for me and so much fun it may be illegal in some states. :)

Now I’m continuing that story but mostly I’m focused on completing the historical romance I started a while ago with the balloonist hero. I’ve completed the tough first draft. Whew! Now I’m getting deep into the second draft, where the characters really start to drive the story. It’s an exciting time.

Meanwhile I am continuing to have a blast blogging with my friends at the Risky Regencies. If you love romance novels and/or the English Regency you cannot find a more like-minded group of people. We also do a lot of guest interviews and giveaways. Check out some of our recent posts!
